It’s been an exciting 4 weeks with the trial launch sessions at Best School of Acting. The standard of the pupils who came along was very high and this meant that we could forge forward with our concept of professional high quality teaching and standards. All three sessions that the groups take part in are carefully planned and co-ordinated so that there is a coherent progression of learning – the development of each pupil from week 1 to week 4 really showed us how successful our new method is. Even in four weeks we could see improvements, confidence grew, creative thinking was developing and the improvement of the pupils’ vocal and physical skills was clearly noticeable.
There were times in the last sessions where all staff were taken aback by the talent that was developing in both scripted and improvised work. The buzz around the school was electric and the bonds between the students cannot go unnoticed.
Seamus Allen who teaches ‘The Actor’ course and who has a 100% success rate for pupils gaining entry to drama school said “The talent and ability, especially in the advanced group, is some of the highest I have seen, they are going from strength to strength.”
Within the four weeks we have also been coaching our students for school and drama placement auditions. We are now ready to launch the full course which begins on Saturday 10th November at 2pm.
