Monologue Assessments play a key part in the development of our young actors, giving the Faculty a chance to gauge how well the students have grasped (and can apply) the various concepts taught and to give them the opportunity to display this in performance. These take place twice a year in non-public performance terms.
The pieces should be no longer than 2 minutes and will be performed in front of all the groups. Preferably these should be self-directed and ‘new’ in that they haven’t already been performed elsewhere by the student.
These are an important part of our assessment of progress and are a key factor in decisions regarding movement between groups. If a student misses the given date they will still be required to perform their monologue at one of the weekly sessions.
Students are welcome to discuss the development of their monologues at any time with their tutors.
