TheBYTE offers BSA students a richer vein of performance opportunity – to put their new skills to the public test!
The group is creative, re-inventive, challenging and progressive – an established and dynamic young people’s theatre company in St Albans. If you in year 8 or above and are serious in learning about the theatre, TheBYTE is the place to be on a Wednesday evening!
With TheBYTE you will try out new youth theatre techniques, different styles and various roles. Writing, devising, acting, directing and stage managing to ensure a stream of new youth theatre performances, you’ll be guided by experienced professional Directors and Actors.
We mount our own shows and participate in local and national festivals, such as the NT Connections programme which we worked on over the end of 2014 into spring 2015. Our home performances in March and the play’s transfer to the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton on 3rd May were a huge success. This resulted in an invitation to perform at the National Theatre in July.
We’ll always try support our students’ work towards exams and auditions and aim to give everyone the chance to try out new things in a very supportive and positive environment.
Fees are £190 per term for those in years 11-13, and £140 for those in years 8-10. There are significant discounts available for BSA students, and the group meets every term-time Wednesday from 6pm-8pm (years 11-13) and 4.30pm-6pm (years 8-10).
